Sacha Hummel grew up in town, attended school within the district, and is a business owner within downtown North Scituate. As a former Spartan, Sacha attributes his lifelong values and morals resulting from his personal experiences within the community. Such invaluable life lessons included how to be true to oneself and embracing learning opportunities.
Throughout the years, Sacha has worked for the school department and served on various boards and commissions, including the Charter Commission and the North Scituate Village Overlay Committee (15 years). Expanding upon his civic engagement, Sacha has also worked many years at the polling locations during elections; he's also worked registration for the annual financial town meetings.
A previous candidate for Town Council, Sacha is looking forward to being elected so that he can encourage Town Council peers to focus on the maintenance and care of the town's assets, including its buildings. Being mindful of tax increases and expanding diverse and community-driven events that align with the town's population are additional priorities that are also goals for Sacha to bring to fruition. In the area of public safety, Sasha believes it's paramount that the fire and police departments expand upon their existing collaborative efforts, aiming to develop long-term goals by planning accordingly within their respective budgets. Lastly, as a member of the Town Council, Sasha looks forward to thinking outside of the box to address housing challenges for senior citizens.
