A dedicated public servant, Michael served Scituate on its town council for a decade. He then was elected as a state representative in District 41 from 2009 to 2017. His passion for empowering his local community, coupled with his decades of experience as a practicing attorney, makes Michael the ideal candidate for Town Moderator. Mike and his family have deep roots in the community, and are the owners of the popular Corner Bistro restaurant on Chopmist Hill Road.
The town moderator presides over the town’s annual financial meeting in June (previously in April) where voters meet to review, debate, and approve the proposed town and school budget for the fiscal year. Over the last 25 years, Mike has been a frequent participant at these meetings, and has advocated for and passed measures that lowered the late interest penalty from 12% to 9%, appropriated funds to pay for the distribution of a proposed Home Rule Charter, and has ensured that all votes are counted fairly and honestly.
Our efforts to build a more inclusive, transparent Scituate starts with you! Each dollar helps us promote civic engagement opportunities, support qualified candidates on the Democratic ticket, and more!
