As Scituate's only full-time elected official, Peg is once again seeking re-election as our Town Clerk. As a certified municipal clerk, Peg has been a dedicated public servant for our residents for several years. Her open-door policy, kind demeanor and wealth of knowledge is what keeps our town hall flourishing. Under Peg's leadership, Scituate has benefitted through her problem-solving and innovative approach towards improving the Town Clerk's office. Outside of her participation of town council meetings, residents often see Peg not only attending community events, but volunteering during various programs.
The Office of the Town Clerk provides a number of services to the public, including the receiving and recording of all land evidence records, vital statistics, voter registration, preparation and maintenance of all elections including the Financial Town Meeting, probate, business license applications, the issuance of certified copies of birth, death and marriage certificates, and the issuance of various licenses. The Town Clerk also documents all transactions of the town council, preparing meetings and minutes, along with posting timely information for public viewing.
The Town Clerk's office is responsible for the maintenance, indexing and storage of all of these records as required by state law.
