MARGARET “Peg” LONG (RE-ELECT TOWN CLERK) As Scituate’s only full-time elected official, Peg has brought stability and steady leadership to the Town Clerk’s Office during this time of ever changing demands and restrictions of the COVID-19 crisis. A certified municipal clerk, a long time pharmacist, and active in her community, Peg has earned the respect of virtually every town resident for her years of dedicated and excellent public service. A life-long Scituate resident, past president of the New England Town Clerks Association, and a member of many local community groups, Peg’s knowledge and experience in running the Town Clerk’s Office has ensured continued first class service even during this unprecedented pandemic. “I love my job as your elected town clerk. While these past six months have been difficult for many, I am proud of my dedicated staff who continue to provide excellent services to the community. The town clerk is an important link between the people and its government, and I will continue to insist on prompt, courteous service, and pledge to serve everyone with respect and decency.”
