MICHAEL J. MARCELLO - TOWN COUNCIL CHOPMIST HILL ROAD Mike seeks to return to the Scituate Town Council having previously served on that body for eight years in the early 2000s. A champion of open government, supporter of public education, and ethical government, Mike’s record of advocacy on behalf of his constituents is well known. A partner at Lewis Brisbois LLP where he specializes in civil litigation and municipal law, Mike’s knowledge of government administration and operations will help guide the Town Council as it faces challenges in local governance and finance in these unprecedented times. After graduating Scituate’s public schools, Mike went on to earn a B.A. in government from Colby College and a law degree from the American University’s Washington College of Law. He was recognized by Common Cause RI with its Excellence In Public Service Award for his “leadership in pursuit of open, ethical, accountable government” during his tenure as a member of the Rhode Island General Assembly. “Scituate’s government must reflect the values of its citizens and the Town Council must have members who are committed to conducting themselves in an ethical and open manner regardless of the issue. I look forward to applying my knowledge and understanding of municipal government as we move forward into the next decade as one community.”
